Monday, a new team member arrived!

Hi there, I'm the new person in group number 18! Monday morning I arrived at school for the first time. I really liked the building, especially the big windows and the view. I went to my group and we introduced ourself. We are with four, from Sweden, Mexico and the Netherlands. After the introduction they told me about the assignment and the ideas they had develloped. We discussed the positive and negative parts of the concepts. At the end of the day we have chosen a final concept, a mix between three of the ideas. After lunch we had two readings about video editing and front end design. It was really interesting! We also made a team picture :)

Tuesday

Tuesday we have spent a lot of time on the details of our concept. We also made a prototype with different functions. We looked at the accessories and which we wanted to use. We also paid attention at the powercube connection with families and home. We started modeling different parts of the powercube in grafic computer programs ,like SolidWorks. In the evening there was a party at the IDC, it was really nice. We danced a lot, and the drinks were nice (and cheap) ;)

Wednesday, modeling!

We spent the whole day in the workshop. I really liked the area, and ofcourse all the different machines. Here the have so much more different materials, machines and much more space, compared to my school in Zwolle. So I really enjoyed my time in there! We decided to make a big model, with the sizes of the real cube, and a scale model. The big one is for the experience of the measurments of the cube. It's important to feel how big it really is. In the tiny cube we paid a lot of attention to the details. I'm really happy with the end result. I think it looks cute, and all the important information is in it. It was quite some work to make the scale model. We had lasercut all the parts, and put it together with glue. But because of the size of the parts, it took us a while. But as I said, we are very happy with our models! This day we also made the renderings of our online 3D model, and we started with the poster and the movie.
